Mercury Dimes


Mercury Dimes were minted from 1916 to 1945. The coin does not show Mecury ,but it shows Liberty wearing a winged cap meaning freedom of thought . Due to the resemblance to the Roman God Mecury it has been called the Mercury dime.

2 cent piece



The two cent piece was the first coin to have In God We Trust written on it. The first year of minting was 1864. The last year was in 1873.This occured during the Civil War, due to religious feelings. Edward Bowman

Buffalo Nickel

The Buffalo Nickel has been created from three different Indians Iron Trail Two Moons and Chief John Big Tree in 1911. James E Fraser created the design . The buffalo came from Central Park Zoo in New york.Black Diamond was the name of the buffalo. By Edward Bowman

 

1943 Steel Penny

Zinc coated pennies were developed in 1943 becaused copper and nickel were needed for the war effort of World War Two. Through the years value hasn't increased . A lot of people like to collect them. Some of the them are valued at a quater. Rare copper coins can be valued up to $82,500 dollars. Zinc coated pennies can cost as much twenty five cents a peice.
